Tennis Court

Tennis courts in Malaysia are not as much as badminton courts so some people who wants to play tennis, they just simply find a plain space as a tennis court. However, if you want to play tennis, at first you have to make sure that you are playing at a real tennis court for your own safety.

Type of floor

A tennis court is 23.77m long, 8.23m wide for singles and 10.97m wide for doubles. The service line is 6.4m from he net. Additional clear space around the court is needed in order for players to reach overrun balls for a total 18m wide and 37m long.

Where is it usually installed?

Besides that, tennis is played on a variety of surfaces. The four main types of materials used for the surface are clay, hard materials, grass and carpet.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Here are some guides for you to choose which court surface you will like. Clay courts are made of crushed shale, stone or brick and can slow down the ball and produce a high bounce compared to grass or hard courts. Grass is the fastest type of court because of its low bounce capacity. As for a hardcourt, the ball travels at a speed slower and bounces higher and predictable due to the hard and flat surface. A carpet court will make a fast game with low bounce of ball.
